Thank you for your interest in joining Game Workers of Southern California! We are a fast growing organization dedicated to empowering those who work in games through organizing, collective bargaining, and unionization. To that end we have developed an application process that will introduce you to who we are and what we are about. Joining GWSC is a commitment you will be making to learn, discuss, and eventually take action towards unionization.

This application is for joining GWSC as a general member. If you’re looking for support with a  specific unionization campaign or direct action at your workplace, please email hello@gameworkerssocal.org and we can set up a meeting on short notice. You do not need to be a GWSC member to organize at your workplace!

We accept everyone outside of managers with direct hiring and firing power for membership, including game workers, game students & faculty, their loved ones, and activists from outside the industry. If you are in a position in which you directly hire or fire employees, you will not be able to be an official member of Game Workers of Southern California. However, we still encourage you to apply! While you will not be able to join us in an official capacity, we still value your support and will be recognized as a GWSC Ally. As an Ally you will still be able to interface with us via our public facing media, forums, and chat. However only Official Members will be granted full access to our organization.

PLEASE NOTE: All information given on this form will be completely confidential and will only be used for the purpose of determining membership eligibility and communications both internally and directly with you related to said membership. Any personal information you provide to us will not be given to nor shared with ANY other party without your express WRITTEN permission! Please note that, as part of the membership process, the name you give here will be posted in our secure Discord channel so that current verified GWSC members can anticipate new arriving members. If you have any issues or extenuating circumstances regarding this part of the process, please let us know in your application or email hello@gameworkerssocal.org.
